Directions from the M4 motorway

1. Leave the M4 at Junction 12 (Theale), taking the A4 exit road westbound towards Theale and Newbury.
2. After 1 mile, take the 3rd main exit at the roundabout, following the signs for Tidmarsh and Pangbourne along the A340.
3. After 4 miles, you enter Pangbourne, where you take the right turn at the mini-roundabout.
4. Take the left turn at the next mini-roundabout, about 100 metres on.
5. The road passes under the railway, then crosses a toll bridge over the river, at which you must pay 10p. This bridge has a 7½ tonnes weight restriction.
6. Follow the road (B471) for about 3 miles to Crays Pond staggered crossroads, at which point you turn right, then immediately left, towards Woodcote.
7. After about a mile, you pass the Red Lion pub on your left, with the Cricket/playing field on your right. Take the next right turn, which is just at the edge of the playing field.
8. Follow this road for about ¾ mile, until it comes to a junction on the A4074, at which point turn right, and then immediately left, towards Checkendon village.
9. Follow this road through Checkendon village, until you reach a T Junction
10. Turn right, and follow the road through Stoke Row, past the shop on your right
11. Just before you reach the Cherry Tree pub on the left, turn left into Nottwood Lane, and follow the road until it bears sharp right at the bottom of the hill
12. Go through the white gate (open the gate by pressing the button), and bear round to your left
13. You will then see some wooden steps leading up to the office
